Labor Management Update
Overtime Guidelines: LOU signed and published.
Career Rotation Timelines: Working on MOU for assignment length.
Firearm Replacement: Glock balking at replacing weapons, ongoing discussion.
CLD’s: November 2017 CLD’s slated to start. Admin asked County Council to convert one spot for a supervisor. If not the supervisor for CLD will be CST Sergeant.
Parks Patrol: Not posted on SHRnet. Schedule fixed.
Training Position: Paul Evans was extended in position but declined. Expedited opening for Training and Court Security to allow person(s) selected to begin at bid.
Guild OIS Checklist: Developed by Eboard to track involved deputies vacation time, appointments already scheduled, prior commitments to avoid scheduling range etc at conflicting time.
Tattoo Policy: Vance met with involved member. Bomkamp not enforcing policy but dress code for Background Unit will be applied.
Detective openings: New promotional list available in November.
Phlebotomy Program: Still waiting on decision from Sheriff.
Instructors Per Shift: Chief Hausner working on matrix to determine how many instructors can work each shift or be off.
CSO Uniforms: Still looking at options. CSO’s do not want change.
Bike Patrol: Same as last month.
Peer Support: Looking at adding more members but Admin not fully supportive. Admin states CPO points not issue. Remains ongoing.
Volunteers for Negotiations Committee: Cropp, L. Anderson, Merod, Bird, Provost, Reigle, Tjossem.
WACOPS: Ex. Director contract not being renewed. No reason given.
Deadly Force Bill: trying to remove “malice” from statute. Outside interest backing initiative to remove. Significant backing of 10 plus million dollars. Looking at new Bill of Rights for LE for any changes in use of Force.
Narcon: Lt. Cropp updated the rollout of Narcon to supervisors for Fentanyl contact. Fentanyl is 100x more powerful than Heroin, 2-3 mg can be fatal. Use extreme caution, GLOVES / MASK / GLASSES.
Phil Fortunado: Endorsement request for Senate. Motion to Endorse / L. Anderson 2nd / Tjossem
Contract Negotiations: Top choices of online vote discussed. Further information will be posted on website.
