Labor Management Update
CAD/AVL: There is a committee now working on dispatch issues/fixes. DOL reformatted returns and it is not yet fixed on our end. Fire came on with new MPS except Tacoma. Reminder on the recent TPD shooting that CAD crashed when everyone logged on. Please don't log on unless responding and use radio if want to follow the call. This issue is done unless new issues arise.
CID On Call: Done except for any issues that arise in 2017. Evaluate as needed.
CSO Positions: HR has softened its previous postion regarding CSO at the front desks so there may be some new positions added.
Safety at facilities: In light of the Foothills building shooting, the County is adding cameras to the detachment buildings (not sure who will have access to monitor). County also looking at ballistic film for windows and adding long guns to all buildings. Should be adding a gate to CCB parking on Tacoma Ave side in 2018 to avoid truck bombs, and moving gate on Nollmeyer side.
Staffing: Waiting on CID study. Council has raised issue of funding sources. .1% left on levy lid; Board will be inviting Council members and new Exec to meet during the next year.
OIS Metro concept - looking at "liasion" concept rather than "observer"; also still discussing how PCSD people would be used in other agencies' shootings ie volunteer or otherwise
PIE - discussing what/how info would be disclosed to Prosecutor and how to "clawback" if not sustained, etc. Guild is drafting templates to review at next meeting.
Contract Chief MOU - Reviewing changes to the MOU to open the process for applicants and condensing levels plus adding half step for Assistant/Deputy Chiefs in the future. No agreement on MOU yet. Once agree on language, will come to body for a 1st reading and then a 2nd reading and vote.
K9 Alternate Master Handler - LOU is finished and Personnel Order has been cut for Theron Hardesty.
Any new issues? None
Old Business - Lloyd/Hutch looking at app platforms to determine best fit for Guild website. Should have an update soon on which app to pick.
New Business - Judge Stolz contacted Guild Attorney Leann Paluck to seek support for application for Lakewood Muni Court as she lost her position on Superior Court in November election. Guild endorsed her for her Superior Court position. After discussion, motion by Bird, 2nd by Nicodemus to endorse her for Lakewood Muni IF Lakewood Guild supports her or does not care if Guild supports her. Passed. Westfall to contact Lakewood Guild.
Contract negotiations will open again in 2017. Any members with ideas/suggestions should either contact Vance Tjossem or post on website blog.
Good of the Order: Sanders, Bird, Wilson (to Chaplaincy) and Simmelink
